Tufted Titmouse
The dropping barometer brought flocks of birds to the feeder today. I love tufted titmouses. They are so quick, dashing to the feeder, selecting on seed and back to a tree to crack it open. I tried for a nut-cracking photo, but none of them were sharp enough to share- busy little things!

Sparrow
I caught this little one hopping through my (now frozen) flowerbed. I liked how he blended in with the ground yet the colors on his head also made him stand out. Nothing like a little color to help you stand out in the crowd.

Fly Away Home
There have been an unusual number of ladybugs who have been active and flying about my house this winter. I am not sure why, but this one was flying around my chair and light as a I worked this evening. So, here she is fo you to enjoy.

VIEW
As I glanced around my classroom for a subject for my photo today, I wondered what the tree would look like through shooting through the screen and blinds. It's interesting how the camera sharpens the mesh of the screen.

Hungry
The Blue Jays arrive at the feeder with a flourish of dominance, briefly scaring the other birds off. They eat hungrily, scattering food everywhere and they with a cry they are off.
Fluffed Out
I love watching the birds at my backyard feeder. They are some of my favorite photo subjects. This one is one of many female cardinals. It just takes some patience to capture one just right as they flit and jump about between the trees, ground, and the feeder.

Squirrel
I caught this little fellow in the back yard this morning. The somewhat milder temperatures brought out the whole family of squirrels.
Birds
I walked outside this morning and was greeted by the sounds of what sounded like at least 100 crows cawing in the trees.

NJHS
I had a wonderful evening celebrating the National Junior Honor Society induction of three of my former students. I was honored and humbled when they wrote about the difference I made in their lives.
Going Home
As I drove home, I saw so many different scenes that would make a tremendous shot...unfortunately driving got in the way. I really like the shape of this tree with the clouds and sun going down behind it.

Keeping Organized
i have no routine during the school day. Every day, my schedule is completely different than the day before. I have so many different classes across grades one through six that I needed some way to to organize my materials so i could find them easily. The good news? Its working.

Orchid Time
It takes patience and sun from my southeastern window, but about once a year this orchid sends out a shoot and blooms. I can't wait to show you the flowers!

Violets Blooming
It is always such a joy to watch the buds form and then unfold into such glorious beauty and color.
